Hands-on Learning Activities for Older Students: When children are young it is easy to add crafts and activities to lesson plans. As students get older their coursework tends to include more traditional curriculum such as textbooks and online courses. Join us as we talk about WHY it is so important to continue to give older students hands-on learning opportunities. We will also share ideas for HOW to quickly and easily supplement your older child’s lessons with creative projects and activities to enhance their learning (hint, older kids are more independent learners so they can do most of the work to set-up and complete the activities on their own!).

Take Your Learning on the Road: Learning on Vacation: Just because we “home school” doesn’t mean we have to do all of our learning AT home. Incorporating travel through field trips and family vacations is a great way to help kids explore the world around them and bring their learning to life. In this session Susan will share some of her family’s favorite travel destinations for learning and offer suggestions for guiding kids’ learning before, during, and after a trip.
