Can we talk for a minute.?!!
I just got off the phone with the manager of Apple Market. I haven’t been posting deals from there for several weeks, because we were on vacation and because I’ve been unsure of the coupon policy.
There is a new policy in place. Unfortunately, it’s been changed because of some “extreme” couponers out there. I find this upsetting…because my intent for including Apple Market deals has been to drive traffic to them — good traffic. I appreciate Apple Market — and want more people to shop there! I find great deals there all the time, but I also try to buy more than just the loss leaders — because I want to support them!
You already know I’m not an extreme couponer, and I’m finding the show has really caused some issues even in our little town. I’ve talked to the managers at both Apple Market and Dillons, and they have both mentioned the show and how manufacturer’s are cracking down. So I’m entreating you…
- Please be ethical in your coupon practices.
- Please don’t be a shelf-clearer or hoarder. I’m a fan of stockpiling — but not insanely!
- Please consider how you can support your local businesses — instead of just taking advantage of them.
Anyway, the new coupon policy at Apple Market includes a few things worth mentioning:
*Coupons over 51¢ will no longer double up to $1. Coupons up to 50¢ should double.
*Coupons will not double on advertised sales (this is a slightly gray area as it’s up to the cashiers to follow this).
*You may only use two like coupons per visit.
Here is a copy of the new policy if you’d like to read it yourself:

I love the show extreme couponing, however I have experienced issues alread due the show with people clearing out shelves at the local dillons. To make matters worse it was as I stood there right behind her, waiting to purchase ONE of the item she was filling her cart with. I was afraid when the show came out that the stores would see it and realize the risk and change policies to mitigate it. 🙁

Sadly, I do think that’s why we’re seeing so many changes. 🙁
