Last week, you saw my pile of 15¢ notebooks from my back-t0-school shopping trip.  I’m planning to pick up a few more to last through the year, because I use the notebooks for everything!  Here are just a few ideas:

1) To-Do Lists
I use a notebook for various checklists. For example, I keep one notebook just for my blogging to-do list. I make a little box and write what I need to do and check it off when I finish! It isn’t fancy at all, but I like that I’m not using any printer ink or printing paper. Plus, it’s very easy to tear out my completed checklist and recycle it!
I also use a notebook with my middle daughter. She needs a little more direction in cleaning her room, because she gets easily overwhelmed. I *draw* (as best I can) a picture of the items she needs to put away, and she checks them off her list.
2) Prayer and journaling
Although not necessarily keepsake quality, I use the notebooks in my prayer life. I have about a billion things running through my head all the time, so I easily get distracted while I pray. Writing my prayers keeps my attention and helps me focus on God. It’s also amazing to go back and see how God has answered my prayers!
3) Educational ideas
There are so many things you can do with a notebook for homeschool or educational purposes!
- Stamp each letter (a big hit with my preschoolers)
- Cut out letters from a magazine and glue on the labeled page
- Make sticker stories (incorporate stickers into a drawing and write about it)
- Write letters back and forth (I write and ask a question, my daughter answers the question and writes a few things, I respond, etc.)
- Make a simple dictionary for words that are difficult for your child to spell.
- Make an assignment checklist
What are your favorite uses for inexpensive, 1-subject notebooks?

I also do the To Do List and a Q&A between each child. I write a question they answer and then write me a question I answer etc….
I also have a Family Notebook which we put websites with user names and passwords etc…, A menu/shopping list notebook.
This school year I am trying to be more together 🙂 LOL
Oh…I love the idea of a book for passwords and websites!!
Ha, ha…I’m always trying to be more together, too! 🙂

Love your ideas! I used one to make a sticker activity book for my daughter (click on my name for the link)

I love all your ideas! I also have a journal where I write my prayers down, because like you I have tons of things running through my head!
I have tons of notebooks and I love the idea of using it for my girls with the letter stamp so thank you for that. Hopefully my little one doesn’t tear up the pages since she’s known to do that!
I also have a notebook where I keep all my notes when I have a phone call, this way everything is put on paper and I remember if I had to pay something or had to call someone in a certain day. I actually started this when I was selling Mary Kay, in every page I put a date and that was like my oversized calendar. Until this day I have a notebook for all my calls and passwords. It’s been 6 years and I already filled 3 notebooks!
Thank you for your ideas!
God bless….
