Ultimate Tax Season Survival Kit Giveaway: SentrySafe Fireproof & Waterproof File Safe + $25 Walmart Gift Card

I’m finally finished up with my taxes!  In the past, they haven’t been too difficult, but this year was different.  I had all kinds of blogging expenses and giveaways and all of that to deal with, so I stayed up way too late for several nights getting things together!

During this time, I had the opportunity from SentrySafe to receive a waterproof & fireproof Sentry File Safe and a $25 Walmart gift card to make a “Tax Season Survival Kit”.

 

Here’s what I included in my tax time survival kit:

  • Sentry File Safe (I think it’s a good idea to have a fireproof safe to keep a copy of your taxes in — we asked for one as a Christmas present one year!)
  • Computer back-up (hard drive, flash drive, etc.)  You never know when your computer might stop working…and you need all of those documents!
  • Calculator
  • Pens
  • File folders
  • Paper clips
  • Highlighters
  • Page protectors
  • Binders
  • COFFEE!!

Usually our taxes fit into an envelope, and I just store them in the safe that way.  This year with all of the print-outs and receipts, I needed a new idea.

I decided to put all of my sorted and categorized papers into sheet protectors and store them in a binder.  One for all my blog stuff…and one for our home and Usborne Books stuff.

I am SO GLAD to be finished with taxes!  I’ve promised myself that I’ll stay on top of my paperwork to make things easier next year…

    We actually had our water heater leak which was in the attic. Well the room that got the wettest was my office and my file cabinets. Which had all our birth certificates, passports, as cards Nd everything else important in it. Which was a pain to replace everything. Ever since I have been looking for a good waterproof safe.     Well, with three adopted kiddos, we have a TON of valuable paperwork that has out grown the space in our other safe. Our taxes are just sitting on the desk….ummmmm…and after the big audit last year, I am extremely organized! Well, besides keeping it all in a safe and fireproof place…

    I would love this safe to protect all of our important papers such as passports, birth certificates, social security cards, marriage license, house loans, graduation certificates, etc. There just isn’t as big of a use as a bank box anymore and thus we could use a safe at home. We have been thinking about one since our wedding, but put it off due to the cost. I also always keep a copy of all my cards and credit cards in case stolen and need to put them in there along with spare keys. It is awesome that you got this for a giveaway!
