There are plenty of verses found in the Bible that you can teach your kids about Christmas, and they’re not all in the New Testament! Here are 12 of our favorites that we are going to read on Christmas Eve with our children during our family celebration! You could also learn one of these verses every couple of days leading up to the Christmas holiday. Try these 15 Bible Verses to Teach Your Children About Advent too {with a free printable so you can keep them handy}.
Isaiah 9:6 – For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Micah 5:2 – But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be a ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.
Isaiah 11:1 – Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.
Zechariah 9:9 – Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Matthew 1:21 – She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.
Luke 1:30-31 – The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
Matthew 1:23 – ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel’, which translated means, ‘God with us.’
Luke 2:10-11 – But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:14 – “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
2 Corinthians 9:15 – Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
Isaiah 7:14 – Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
Psalm 72:11 – And let all kings bow down before him, all nations serve him.
