This is what I’ve been needing.
This is the most important part of the Home Management Binder for me!
I have been forgetting things right and left — appointments, to-do’s, activities…
*sigh* I’m not sure if it’s just mommy brain or I’m actually becoming more forgetful!
Several months ago, I traded in my pay-by-the-minute flip phone for a pay-by-the-month smartphone, and I was convinced I would just keep all of my activities and calendar on it.
It hasn’t worked for me!
Especially since my husband doesn’t have a smartphone or use Google Calendar, I keep forgetting to fill him in on our comings and goings, so I need something right out in the open for all of us to see.
And that’s why I am excited about this! It sets right in the cookbook holder on top of the island in the kitchen — and everyone can see it and add to it!
First of all, it includes places for appointments, to-do lists, AND our daily menu. I can keep it all together!
Next I added our daily cleaning schedule:
- Monday: Bathrooms
- Tuesday: Bedrooms
- Wednesday: Shopping/Errands
- Thursday: Kitchen
- Friday: Living Areas
- Saturday: Planning/Goal-Setting for the next week
- Sunday: Coupon clipping and sorting + filing any paperwork, bills, etc.
Of course, I clean the other areas during the day! These are just the focus areas for each day of the week, so they get a little extra attention (floor scrubbing, sheet changing, pantry organizing, etc.).
I also put my weekly Motivated Mom’s planner right behind each week’s schedule, so I can remember to do those extra projects, too.
The checklist also includes a place to record whether you’ve finished a daily Bible Study, exercised, taken your vitamins, and drank your water (I’m keeping a tally and checking it when it’s complete).

I like those check offs at the bottom of each day!! I’ve been wanting to drink more water and take my vitamins!

I’ve tried the binder before, but it didn’t work for me! I really wanted it to, as I’d love to have literally every area of my life organized in to one spot. However, I’ve found that I’m a cross between the techy-planner sort and the checklist type. My family’s schedule, contacts, reminders, and Motivated Moms schedule are kept on my smart phone, and I keep a dry-erase calendar on the wall for the entire family to see. This has worked very well for us. However, I DO need some help with managing other areas of my home, such as menu-planning, tackling trouble spots and rooms, setting and completing goals, and zone-cleaning. So, I’m going to try to incorporate some of the binder ideas for those areas items that aren’t on my phone. My first question is how do you combine the Motivated Moms chore planner with your daily zone cleaning? I’ve found that many of the zone chores are incorporated in to the MM planner, and vice-versa.

Would you be creating one soon for 2013? Adding the weekly menu would be a good idea!
Stacie Nelson says
Not quite sure yet…but that’s just around the corner, so I better start thinking about it! Thanks for the suggestion!
June says
Would you add one for 2013 ? Thanks
Stacie Nelson says
Hi, June,
I’ve thought about that! I’ll have to check with my sister since I’m unsure if she will have the time to work on it.
Thanks for the idea though!

I would love to print your weekly planner, I have become a subscriber too, however I am still not able to print it. Any suggestions?
Stacie Nelson says
Feel free to email me if you became a subscriber by 1/5/13, and I can check and resend you the link!
Heather says
I just became a subscriber last night, is this printable no longer available then?
Stacie Nelson says
Hi, Heather. It was just a 48 hour freebie, so it’s not longer available in the content of the email subscription. If I have enough interest and people leaving comments, I may run it again though!
P.S. Feel free to email me since you became a subscriber….I can probably help you out! motherhoodonadime at gmail dot com 😉
