This week has been challenging for me — and most of you don’t know, but I’ve been under some pretty harsh criticism from various sites for posting this post about Resurrection Cookies.
I count it all as joy, however.
And I stand unashamed of my beliefs. I completely understand that many of you do not believe as I do, and I am quite willing and open to dialogue about it — as long as we can do it respectfully (I will not allow comments that bash my integrity or are disrespectful to my children or my Lord)! I pray my words are always gracious and loving, and no one would feel alienated or disrespected here! You are welcome to email me at any time if there is anything you question or take issue with.
If you’re new here, the thing I hope you would know about me is that I know what it’s like to walk through darkness. I know what it’s like to struggle desperately against addictions, to fail miserably in parenting and life, to lose those I love most, to feel completely unlovable. Yet, I’ve found acceptance and love and forgiveness because of Jesus. Will you take a few minutes to listen to this song? It is my heart’s cry this Resurrection Sunday, and I still cannot listen to it without being moved to tears!
Oh, death, where is your sting? O, hell, where is your victory?
O, church, come stand in the light.
Our God is not dead. He’s alive!! He’s alive!!

Praise the Lord on this Resurrection Sunday! And good for you for being unashamed of your beliefs!
Thanks, Dusty! Blessings to you!!
I’m sad to hear you’ve been under fire. Rom 8:31 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. I’m celebrating this wonderful truth right along with you. How beautiful is our Lord and His kindness toward us all.
Thank you, Caroline! I just rejoice that so many people have read the post, and I trust God to use it as He will!
Hi Stacie! So sad to hear you’ve had backlash on your Resurrection Cookies post. I just wanted to write and wish you and your family a Happy Easter and thank you for sharing your beliefs!
Thanks so much, Michelle! I pray you have a wonderful day, too!
I am not sure why people have some much time on their hands to criticize others? I don’t think you should be ashamed of the post on Resurrection Cookies. It’s your blog and it’s your choice of what to post. If they oppose then they DON’T have to read it. I remember when I was a child in Sunday School / Children Church we did similar things like tasting the vinegar and salt. You have stood up for what you believe in and you’re telling the world. It’s there loss not yours. I am very thankful that you posted this. Please keep your head up. Thank You for being a firm believer in Jesus Christ.
God Bless,
Tanesha
I am sorry for the harsh words. I am new to blogging, so I haven’t faced that yet. I can’t figure out what you could have written that is so offensive. It is good you are able to push past the criticisms.
I posted about your cookies on my site–and was very thankful to have the recipe to use. I have been doing these cookies for a number of years. They came out great. I was able to take some of them to church with me–it’s better to share since it makes so many.
so sorry to hear you were getting bashed for the posting. I’m sure there were many more who appreciated reminder of the Resurrection cookies. Always helpful to have a visual when working with the kids.
CHRIST IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD!! I thank God for people who are willing to stand up for Jesus. Count it all joy!! Thank you for your post today. It is such a blessing to me. Your sister in Christ, Rebecca.
We sang that song on Easter and I love it too. My dad died on Feb. 26th and we sang that song that day too. Death has no sting for those that believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
I’m sorry about your dad, Jerri.
We ended up singing that song at church on Sunday, too. I hold onto the promise that death has no sting or power over Christ’s followers!
Your recipe and the Bible verses that went along with the ingredients were such an inspiration that we started a new tradition this Easter! We (my husband, myself, and our three children) read our favorite Bible verses before Easter dinner! Keep doing the great things you do!
Thanks so much for the encouragement, Julie! That’s so neat that it could be a new tradition for you!!
I appreciate your blog and openness about all things, including your faith. I love that song also! Check out Natalie Grant’s ALIVE video on youtube. It’s chilling! Grab a tissue first!
