“It’s a journey.”
That’s what a friend told me this week about learning about foods and how to eat.
And, I agree.
It seems like a no-brainer. I mean, didn’t I learn all about nutrition in school? Just eat according to the pyramid, right? And yet, I feel completely misled by much I’ve been “fed” over the years. Reading about gluten in Wheat Belly, looking at the digestive tract (and the Poop Pageant!!) in Practical Paleo, and finding out about all the inflammation caused in my body by the foods I’m eating in Inflammation Syndrome have definitely been eye-opening for me.
This week has actually been a great week for me. I’m feeling better, have more energy, and am having fewer allergies this week. I believe it’s due to the way I’m eating – gluten-free and dairy-free (except for butter).
Exercise was also good – but challenging this week! John and I finally made a full-week of 5 work-outs of P90X2.
The Goals:
1) Lose 10 pounds.
Lost 2.5 pounds since I started.
2) Work-out 4-5 times per week.
John and I made it through the full five work-outs fromfor P90X2 for the week!!
3) Follow a Paleo-type diet and utilize Practical Paleo to guide me in it.
I did this, but I cheated with coffee. My goal is to cut-back to 12 ounces per day next week and work towards eliminating it completely. I know it isn’t good for my blood sugar or adrenal glands, but it’s kind of an addiction I think. *sigh*
That’s it until next week! Hopefully, I’ll have a good coffee report then… 🙂
Each Monday for the next twelve weeks, I’ll be sharing my progress. You can also follow along with all of the other bloggers, too! Check them out over at the Get Healthy & Fit page at Sidetracked Sarah!
