Wow! I just now realized I completely bombed sharing about the past few weeks…
Can I just tell you my life is a little stressful now?!! I know all of yours are, too, so I’m not going to complain. I’m just going to be honest that I haven’t made any progress.
But I also haven’t lost any progress, so I’m okay with where I’m at for now.
I’ve continued to exercise four times per week for the past few weeks. I just started Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred per my doctor’s advice. I had some adrenal testing done and my cortisol level is slightly elevated. The exercise I was doing was just too much, so I’m cutting back to the 20 minute work-out.
I also have been doing some reading about coffee. And I know I’m addicted. It’s what I use to get through my day, but I don’t like the feeling of being addicted to anything. So, I’m going off it cold-turkey this week.
Today is the first day, and it’s horrible. If you feel like cheering me on, I could use it. 🙁
The Goals:
1) Lose 10 pounds.
Lost 3.5 pounds since I started.
2) Work-out 4-5 times per week.
Yes!
3) Follow a Paleo-type diet and utilize Practical Paleo to guide me in it.
Completed!! Now for a no-coffee week…
Each Monday for the next twelve weeks, I’ll be sharing my progress. You can also follow along with all of the other bloggers, too! Check them out over at the Get Healthy & Fit page at Sidetracked Sarah!

You are brave to go cold-turkey! But stick with it. I know you can kick that habit! Love keeping up with your progress.
The first few days are the hardest, BUT you can do this! Your body will be thankful! 🙂 If you really long for a warm drink, try green tea instead. I know it’s not the same, but it’s actually good for you (unlike coffee).
You can totally do this. It’ll stink the first 3 days or so, but once you rid yourself of the addiction, you’ll feel sooooooo much better! Best of luck to you on your journey.
Thanks so much for the encouragement! I’ve made it through six days now! Those first days were rough. It’s getting better, but I still find myself wishing for a cup in the morning. I’m trying hot tea — which is okay and is working for now!
Black tea has more caffeine than coffee. Just check your tea. You may not be getting off caffeine like you think….
It’s more about what the coffee does to my blood sugar and cortisol levels than the caffeine….although the caffeine habit is hard to break! 🙂
