Back in the day, I used to sing. In fact, I harbored high hopes that I would have my own album someday…but that’s a topic for another day. Anyway, I sang with multiple groups in high school and college, and some of my best memories were with worship outreach teams at Southwestern College. This summer, there was a reunion of sorts with all kinds of worship team alumni getting together and singing at a live event. Although I didn’t get to sing (ahem, Martin!), I was able to attend the concert recording, and it was amazing.
After the concert, they took the live recording and turned it into a Christmas album called In the Company of Friends: A Live Christmas Worship Album. Many times, Christmas albums sound the same, so I love how the musicians took traditional Christmas music and arranged it in unique ways to give it a completely different sound. There are also some original tunes written by a few of my friends. My current favorite song is track 7!
I have a tradition that I purchase one new Christmas CD each year, and this was the one I bought for 2015. It’s well-done and the proceeds go back to help out the student ministry teams at the college. I hope you’ll consider purchasing and supporting them, too! The MP3 album (on Amazon here or iTunes here) is, of course, less expensive than the CD; however, if you want to give it as a gift or have it for your collection, you can either order it on Amazon or go to .
I’m excited that and Worship Outreach have made one song free for all of you to download! You can download
