Last week I posted about cleaning up my computer for my 30-Day Clear the Clutter Challenge #2. It went pretty well, although I still need to delete a few photos. I’ll keep working on that through the rest of the week. I can only stand to work on it for about 5-10 minutes at a time!!
I also made back-ups on my [easyazon-link asin=”B0041OSAZI”]external hard drive[/easyazon-link], and I signed up for FREE DropBox account (if you sign up through this link, we’ll both get an extra 250 MB of bonus space — shameless plug, I know!) to make file-sharing and storing easier.
I hope you are all wayyyyy ahead of me, but another suggestion I have is to use Firefox as your web browser! Last year when my computer was hit hard by a virus, I switched over to using Firefox almost exclusively (I use Google Chrome every once in a while). It really has made a difference in how often I get viruses and spyware and malware (ick!). I was pretty desperate, because I just couldn’t seem to stop being infected (maybe that’s what happens when you’re scouring the web looking for bargains?!!) I also like some of the add-ons (and you can upgrade free to Firefox 10).
Of course, it doesn’t mean you’ll never get a virus (you should still take all precautions and have up-to-date antivirus software), but it really has made a difference for me.
What else do you do to keep your computer running well? As a non-techy, I’m open to suggestion!!
Tomorrow, we’ll begin our new 30-Day Challenge!!
