I just received word from jcp that the blocks are no longer available. Guess it was too good to be true. Did this happen to anyone else?

I got the same email today. Sooo disappointed. I had just told the school-ager I nanny that I’d donate one set to his class’s toy drive. Arrghh! Now, I’ll have to find something in it’s place.

I’m so disappointed, as I received an email today that JCPenney had cancelled my order because the manufacturer notified them that the blocks are unavailable. The email also said they would not be charging me. However, they did charge me several days ago and have not refunded my money as of today.

I placed my order on the 6th (with a promotional code) and received one box of blocks yesterday, not the two that I ordered. When I called today JCP couldn’t do anything to get me the other box, so they are refunding the price of one box. I’m a little disappointed; I had wanted one box for a birthday present and the other for the toy drive, but at least I got one box.
I’m sorry to hear about that, too. I think another friend got just one box as well. I’m not really sure why they can’t keep their end of the bargain. Hopefully, everyone will write in and let them know how disappointed we are. I’ll definitely be letting them know!

I too just got one box. A phone call produced the same results, a promise of a refund for the undelivered box. I was informed that it was a “fat-finger rate” (in so many words) and they could sell me another one at $60, less a 20% discount. I asked for the $ back for one box.
If jcp.com follows through and refunds me appropriately for 1/2 of my charge I’ll be fine with the results of this deal. It seems fair(ish). While I would love for JCP to honor the total deal it published, I understand that many companies just pull the entire thing for everyone. I’m ok to “split the difference”, so to speak.
So, now the wait is on to see if they credit my card appropriately.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau over this. Just because they marked a price wrong is no one’s fault and cancelling orders is not a solution. Go to BBB.org and file a complaint.
