I was so thrilled when Mambo Sprouts contacted me to see if I would be interested in receiving a sample of Equal Exchange coffee to review! I don’t consider myself a coffee snob at all, but I especially love organic, bold coffee….
And that’s what I got from Equal Exchange (I used my coffee press — and it was so delicious)!
There are three reasons I loved Equal Exchange:
1) It’s Fair-Trade coffee.
You know I love finding free and cheap groceries, but when I have enough left in my budget, I like to splurge on things that are important to me. I think fairly supporting the farmers who work so hard to provide coffee is the right thing to do.
Here is a little bit about Equal Exchange:
*Fair Trade & Organic (100% fair trade, not just a small token amount)
*Direct from small farmers
*Available in packaged and bulk 5lb bags
*Available directly from Equal Exchange at shop.equalexchange.com or via natural foods stores throughout the country.
*Also offer a selection of fair trade gifts in partnership with other fair trade products.
*First company to provide fair trade coffee in the United States.
*Help farmers improve their quality of product and life through direct relationships, training, (in USA and their countries) pre-harvest financing and fair prices for their goods.
*Equal Exchange coffees are grown organically and with care to protect the environment.
*Equal Exchange is a democratically run worker cooperative. One share, one vote for each employee.
2) It tastes amazing.
I tried two flavors of the Equal Exchange coffees: French Roast and Mind, Body, & Soul. I liked them both, but the French Roast was definitely my favorite.
I brew it dark and strong. And it’s so delicious!!
3) The price is not insane.
After I tried the coffee, I was a little nervous about pricing it! I was pleasantly surprised! I found several flavors of Equal Exchange coffees on Amazon for around $7 – $8 per bag using Subscribe-and-Save (some were more, some were less). This is an excellent price for free-trade, organic coffee.
Have you tried Equal Exchange?
