Ever wanted to try out ABCmouse.com? If so, you can currently get a two month subscription for $5–making it just $2.50 per month (reg. price is $9.95 per month).
I’ve tested out the program, and I love how it automatically adapts to your child’s learning level and offers reading, math, science and social studies, art, games, free printables, and more. If your child is between 2-8 years old, it’s definitely worth taking a look at if you are interested in online learning programs.
The Step-by-Step Learning Path presents the entire ABCmouse.com curriculum in a sequenced program of more than 650 lessons across eight levels. Your child can begin at any level, and the Learning Path will move him or her through the entire curriculum, making sure that the next lessons and activities are specifically relevant for your child.
The lessons of the Step-by-Step Learning Path consist of games, animations, books, puzzles, songs, art activities, and printables that relate to a specific topic. Each lesson offers several different ways to learn that topic to ensure that every child stays engaged with the lesson.
Depending on where you live, your public library might also have an ABCMouse subscription you can use for free. My local public library (in my city, which has a population of about 300K) offers free access to BookFlix, ABCMouse, Beanstack, ScholasticGo! and other children’s databases, as well as resources for adults such as Lynda.com, Mango Languages, Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest, Overdrive ebooks and OneClickDigital eaudiobooks. Head over to your public library (or your public library’s website) to see what they have on offer, and don’t despair if you live in a small town – many libraries offer reciprocal borrowing and user access to neighboring counties (i.e. if you have a library card in one county, the reciprocal county will also issue a library card to you on request, sometimes with a small fee and sometimes not…).
