My heart breaks for all the families affected from the terrible tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma. Oklahoma is my home state and I held my breath until I heard back from my extended family members that live in Moore. The picture above is an image just a half mile away from my aunt and uncle’s home that thankfully went untouched. I know many were not so fortunate. Praying for those that are currently suffering from this terrible tragedy. I just can not even image.

I just love your blog, I wrote something about Moore Ok, but also coming from first hand experience. This was wonderfully done. I appreciate all that you write and this is just exceptional. Thanks for all that You do for finding out frugal ideas and everything else.
Another excellent way to help those who have been affected by the tornados in Oklahoma is a disaster-relief organization that has been around for quite a while: Christ in Action. My husband, in-laws, as well as many other people i know have volunteered with them in response to different disasters around the country.
Their mission is to respond to disasters on American soil, providing physical help with clean-up and construction as well as providing food and fellowship, and just as importantly they strive to provide spiritual support (they are well trained in this area including pastoral training from Christ for the Nations Institute as well as various courses such as CISM). I cannot say enough good things about the quality if support that is provided through them.
Check them out and you may soon discover them to be a favorite:)

Thanks for the post! My church in Southeast AR just met tonight filling up 5 gal buckets with essentials (water, flashlights, toilet paper, etc.) It is called Buckets of Love and they will be shipped out in the morning. People waiting in Little Rick to carry them on to OK. So glad people are reaching out to help!!
Hi I have a wonderful friend named Gayla who helps in terrible disaster aftermath. Her organization is called momsagainsthunger.org and she is based in TX. She and her husband bring relief of various kinds to everyone from the elderly down to the smallest child. The needs are many and so different.
Our prayers are with the families and everyone coming to help them.
