Emily, a Facebook reader, shared an idea for a Valentine placemat that a toddler or preschooler could make. I loved it and came up with a few variations as well!
Preschool Heart Placemat Craft
Supplies:
- Contact paper
- Paper scraps
- Heart template
- Scissors
1) Cut a square of clear contact paper and lay sticky side up. Tear pieces of construction paper or tissue paper (we used what we found in our scrap box) and stick to the square.
2) Cover with another square of contact paper.
3) Make a heart template and trace onto the artwork.
4) Cut-out the hearts.
Use these as a placemat, coaster, or hang them in a window! Your final project size will be determined by what you choose to make!

Such a simple easy idea! I love contact paper! I think we'll try this! Thanks for the great idea! And it can be applied to so many themes!!
