I don’t know about you, but we are entering one of my favorite times of year…and also, one of my least favorite times of year! Fall bring walks through the autumn leaves, football games, apples, and so many other wonderful activities I love. Unfortunately, it also brings the start of cold and flu season.
Every year around this time, I become much more vigilant about keeping door knobs sanitized, all household surfaces cleaned and sanitized, and hands washed well (studies have shown that germs can live on surfaces like desktops and doorknobs for up to two days or more)! Lysol is my go-to disinfectant spray during these times. With our classroom in our house, we definitely want to keep it clean and get rid of as much icky stuff as we can.
Even back when I was teaching, I used Lysol extensively during this season. If you have a child at school, I’m sure you know that classrooms are often breeding grounds for bacteria. Disinfecting commonly touched classroom surfaces is a must for stopping the spread of germs.
And that’s where Lysol sprays and disinfecting wipes come in handy! As the #1 Pediatrician recommended brand and trusted champion of killing illness causing germs for over 100 years, Lysol is committed to fighting germs and keeping clean and disinfected classrooms in schools.
In fact, Lysol has several helpful initiatives going on right now for moms and classroom teachers:
1) For the 2012-2013 Back to School season, Lysol is committed to helping students stay healthy and avoid missed school days. There are all kinds of Healthy Habits lesson plans available for teachers (and homeschoolers) at www.lysol.com/schools. There are also reference guides to common childhood illnesses available for moms.
Also, as part of the Lysol Mission for Health initiative, Lysol maintains dedicated relationships with the Global Hygiene Council, the National Education Association, pediatric expert Dr. Laura Jana, and the CDC in order to improve the health and well-being of students and schools nationwide.
2) Lysol offers a Special Offers product page — complete with coupons! You know I love a good coupon…
3) From now until September 14, 2012, teachers can enter for a chance to win $500 towards school supplies for their classroom (with added chances to win for those who submit a school supply list that features Lysol wipes).
If you are a teacher or homeschooler, be sure to check out the lesson plans. There are quite a few printable lessons — and some of them look pretty fun (like making soap sculptures)! Feel free to pin and share this post and information with your child’s teachers and other moms, too. I’d love to see one of my readers win the school supplies for their classroom!
I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Burst Media on behalf of Lysol. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program, but my opinions are my own.
