On June 24, John and I will celebrate 11 years of marriage! Because of that, I thought we’d focus on marriage this month!
To build a strong marriage, you must take time every day to keep it growing and flourishing, so I wanted to share a 30 Day Challenge I found over at Revive Our Hearts. I thought it would be encouraging to embark on it together!
One of the quickest ways to tear down your marriage is to berate your spouse or complain about them to others. It may not seem like a big deal, but eventually, those negative words will be written on your heart AND his heart. You’ll begin to focus only on the negatives and lose sight of the positives. I may be incorrect, but I have a feeling the end of many marriages begin this way.
The focus of this challenge is to say something positive to your husband every day. You are also going to say something positive about him to someone else. The wonderful thing about this challenge is that you have a guide! Print it out and use it or you can sign-up for a daily email reminder! If you’re struggling to find something positive, this will give you a starting point and an idea for each day.
The other part of this challenge is that you can’t say anything negative about your husband — to him OR anyone else. Bite your tongue if something’s about to come out that shouldn’t!
I’ll be sharing on our Facebook page about the challenge, so you’re welcome to write and let us know how it’s going! I’m praying God will move in our hearts, so we’ll have stronger, more passionate marriages!
