If you’ve followed along with me throughout the last year, you know that I love to take “30-Day Challenges.” From fitness to cleaning to writing a mission statement, I’ve tackled a few projects in the last year!
Today, I’m launching another Clear the Clutter Challenge. You may remember that we tackled one back in May, but already it looks like I need to do it again. I don’t know where it all comes from. I’ve been pretty diligent, but it keeps showing up in the form of gifts, outgrown clothes, and more!!
This week, I want to do a quick sweep of the house and declutter quickly. I’ll be taking pictures and documenting my progress to share with you next week.
Here’s my schedule:
Thursday: Kitchen
Friday: Bathrooms & Laundry Room Closet 🙂
Saturday: Bedrooms
Sunday: Off
Monday: Office
Tuesday: Living Areas
Wednesday: School Area
I’m not going to worry about deep cleaning this time — I’m just trying to get the extra clutter out quickly! For each room, I’ll be using three boxes:
1) Trash: For all the stuff I need to throw away – broken, unusable, etc.
2) Get rid of: The is for all of the items I will either give away or sell at a garage sale.
3) IDK (I Don’t Know): This is for those items I’m just not quite sure I’m ready to get rid of yet. I’ll either go through these later with a friend (to provide perspective) or put them away in a closet. Then, if I haven’t used the items after six months, I’m going to get rid of the box.
That’s my plan! Do you wanna join?!!
Next week, we’ll take a look at some other forms of clutter in our lives. I remember how eye-opening it was the first time I read [easyazon-link asin=”0784721106″]From Clutter to Clarity: Simplifying Life from the Inside Out[/easyazon-link] to help me realize how cluttered I’d let my life become…and not just physical clutter! I’m rereading it this month to help me in this Clear the Clutter Challenge #2!
I must have missed your “Clear the Clutter Challenge #1”. Is there any way I can take a look at that one? I am going to start the #2 challenge. Thanks so much, D
Hi Stacie!
It’s so nice reading your blog. I can relate so much. I’m a new to homeschooling mom of 3 children. still seeing what style of education works best for us with our various ages and stages, but wasn’t sure how to get them more engaged with the Bible. Your little explorers curriculum is so cool! What a neat way to make reading the Bible more interactive and exciting for my little ones! Also, I so appreciate the organization challenge tips, as that is a major area I need help with. Thank you! Blessings!
