I don’t know about you, but this spring has already been TERRIBLE for my seasonal allergies. I’ve tried all kinds of things — no shoes in the house to keep all the allergens out, showers to wash off pollen after I’ve been outside, local honey, a neti pot, and even allergy shots! Although I try not to take too much medicine, some days I just have to!
In fact, on quite a few days, I feel a little like Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke-Charvet in the clip below. (The allergy-medicine free version is like me on a high-pollen day…miserable! The second day….well, I don’t think I’m quite so cute — but I’m much more of a go-getter when I feel well!) Anyway, she teamed up with Merck, the makers of non-drowsy CLARITIN® products, for this new short film titled “The Difference is Clear.”
The film is a crazy, over-the-top look at two versions of one busy woman’s day who is juggling work, life and family while also dealing with allergies. In the first version of her day, Brooke’s character doesn’t take her allergy medication, and her non-stop allergy symptoms cause an impossibly upside-down day, where nothing goes right and everything goes wrong. In the second version, she treats her allergies and has an impossibly outrageous day, so much so, that there is no limit to what she can achieve.

My allergies are TERRIBLE this year and I usually never suffer from them! This is the first year that I have had to take allergy medicine to help control it! My husband and his family gets them pretty bad. You can see it in their eyes how miserable they are when it hits them! Great post!
Thanks! Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Allergies are terrible at our house. Luckily I’m not bothered by them, but my poor son has the worst case – just about all year long. The video is a good reminder for me what he probably feels like most days. Thanks!
I know what you mean…on my worst days when I feel so terrible, I promise myself I won’t forget how it feels so I can be empathetic for my daughters. It’s hard to remember though when you’re feeling better how miserable you really were!
I wish I could get it through my thick skull that taking my allergy meds consistently makes such a big difference. I can SO relate to that mama! Thanks for sharing this video!
I think that is definitely true…I start to feel better and then I stop taking them. I usually regret that!
