Whew! I never thought I’d make it this far!
Today is the *official* day I started this blog one year ago!! It’s been an amazing journey: I’ve “met” so many of you through this blog and our interactions on Facebook. I’ve attended my first blogging conference. I’ve posted over 2470 entries! I’ve struggled to define boundaries for myself as far as technology and family life (yes…10 hours of blogging the day after Thanksgiving is way too much for me). I’ve worked hard to set goals, simplify my life, stick to a budget, menu-plan, use coupons, and be authentic with you about some of the challenges in life!!
I count you as friends, and I am completely blessed that you read and follow along with me. There are a plethora of blogs out there, so I don’t take it for granted that you take time out of your day to read mine.
Because of that, I wanted to do something special.
I have wanted a Kindle Fire for a while now…I’ve been planning and saving so I could buy one. Anyway, as I was getting ready to buy it, I remembered how blessed I am — and, well, I don’t really need it (although if you just happen to have a free one, I doubt I’d turn it down…). 😉
Anyway, back to the main point here. While I was pondering what to do for this one-year blog-o-versary, I really felt that I should buy a Kindle Fire.
But not for me — for one of you!!
This giveaway is open to everyone, but I am going to make it even better for those that follow via email subscription. I’ve learned in the last year not to put my trust in Facebook (I was spam for a while) or Twitter or even Pinterest. My privileges could be revoked without any warning…and I wouldn’t have a way to interact with many of you.

I was wondering if you ever come across good deals for Real Simple Magazine, I was currently getting it for “free” because I had gotten my mother a gift subscription for $24.00 last year and they had a deal where you could get another subscription for free, but that just ran out and I don’t see that offered anywhere. Any suggestions if there are better times throughout the year to buy subscriptions. Thank you.
