Day #47 of our 101 Days of Summer Fun for Kids:
I really wasn’t expecting Balloon Volleyball to be such a hit with the girls, but they played it off and on all afternoon. It was a simple game for kids and a great way to expend some energy since it was way too hot to play outside!
Indoor Balloon Volleyball
Supplies:
- Two chairs
- Yarn or string
- Balloon
1) Clear an area for play. String a piece of yarn from one chair to another.
2) Blow up a large balloon.
3) Play volleyball!
Depending on the age of your children, you could play a more formal game with rules. We just batted the balloon back-and-forth to each other. Our main objective was to keep the balloon off the floor. They also added in a few twists — like hitting it with their head, spiking it, and kicking it!
*Always keep on eye on younger children playing with a balloon. They can be extremely dangerous if a child tries to bite them.
Michelle says
I love balloon volleyball. I played this all the time with my siblings. I’m embarrassed to say how old I was before we stopped playing this game. I’ll have to remember it for when my daughter gets older.
