I ran across this watercolor activity at Playing House in Maryland and loved it! I thought it would be perfect to review shapes and colors.
Color Matching and Shape Review
Supplies:
- Watercolor paint
- Markers
- Paper
- Paintbrush
- Water
1) Draw shapes in various colors with markers on a piece of paper.
2) Invite your child to paint. Ask your child to match the paint according to the color of the lines around the shapes.
After the painting is finished, you may want to review the shapes with them by asking questions like “What color is the triangle?” or “What shape is painted purple?” Your child may also be interested in drawing her own shapes with markers and painting them.
