I know. You’re looking at the picture wondering what in the world this is.
“Has Stacie lost her marbles? This is weird. Crazy lady…”
This, my friends, is our “Eye” Spy wand. It is a silly little incentive I’m using to get my daughter to:
- Look for letters.
- Go on color hunts.
- Read her words in The Reading Lesson.
- Play “‘Eye’ Spy with my little eye something that begins with…..”
I don’t know…I just like to try things that are different. Some kids respond well to the zany or novel approaches to learning!
Another fun idea for making reading, letter hunts, color hunts, etc. fun are these finger light pointers!

I love your eye spy pointer. I didn’t know anyone played that game anymore. I played it as a child, and also played it with my children. I’m glad I seen this. I’m going to pass this along to my niece & nephews for their little ones. Wonder idea!!
Thanks, Michelle! We love to play I Spy!
Cute idea! My daughter loves googly eyes, we need to make one too!
Such a simple and effective idea, totally using this, thanks!
My daughter would LOVE this! Can’t wait to try it with her.
Thanks, Tatia! It is silly…but my daughter loves it!
