My four and five-year-olds are both working hard to learn letter sounds. Each week, we’re doing a new theme and letter (I’ll be sharing more on Wednesday and our lesson plans on Thursday). One of the easy ways we review the letter sounds is by changing these letter pencil toppers each week.
“Letter of the Week” Pencil Toppers

Supplies:
- Cardstock or index card
- Scissors
- Marker
- X-Acto knife
1) Cut a small rectangle from cardstock or an index card. (You could also cut various shapes if you want to review those, too.)
2) Make a slit with scissors or an X-Acto blade (this was easiest for me) near the top and bottom of the rectangle.
3) Write the letter or number your child is practicing on the paper. Slide it onto the pencil!
Hi! I was wondering if you think this preschool program is suitable to do with my three year old, as she is capable, and redo again next year when she’s four? She is so ready for something, while her sister is doing school work. I’m thinking of simplifying it a bit, adding more in if she gets bored with it…
