I know. It seems like a exaggerated title. But honestly, I’ve done SO MANY different exercise programs over the past ten years, and they’ve either been too time-consuming or too thought-consuming or too easy or too expensive. I’ve been a fan of his work for a while because of his emphasis on strength training and metabolic conditioning for women. He’s super smart and really encouraging—but has plenty of tough love, too! He’s helped me understand why the “eat less, exercise more” approach to weight loss has been extremely devastating for my metabolism.
I bought into diet culture for so long that it’s taking a while to retrain my thinking, but I’ve been able to make progress…and now, I’m all about building strength and endurance for life. I don’t want to waste my time chasing weight loss and all of the junk the diet and supplement industry pushes on us, but I do want to build strength and take care of the body I’ve been given.
