I really love Facebook…and we have a great community over there! If you’re not with us, I hope you’ll join us! 🙂
There were so many great money-saving ideas (entries for the giveaway) shared, and I wanted to share them with you!
*Don’t just buy something because it is on sale — make sure you need it also! (Shared by Melody)
*Never go to the store hungry, or with your children, or with your husband! (Shared by Becky)
*Use vinegar and baking soda for most of your cleaning. Works great, and so much cheaper. Vinegar is great for getting rid of odors also. (Shared by Sheila)
*I have gotten much better at using Dillon’s website on Sunday’s: I make my menus for the week; download all applicable coupons; match my menus to the weekly ad and use all available coupons. I have been saving on the average $45 to $60 a week!!!! It is awesome! (Shared by Sandra)
*If your kids complain about generic cereal, put the generic in a name-brand box. They’ll never know the difference! (Shared by Joy)
*Enter blog giveaways. You never know what you might win! 🙂 (Shared by Joy)
*Always shop around for bargains. Never pay full price. Wait for a sale and use coupons. Use newspapers for extra coupons. Ask the store clerk if an item will be on sale in the near future. It doesnt hurt to ask! (Shared by Brenda)
*Buy in bulk! (Shared by Rachel)
*Shop at several stores to get the best deals in town! (Shared by Melanie)
*Always take plenty of snacks with you for your little one, so they don’t bug you about being hungry. (Shared by Lovia)
*I put frozen hamburger (or any other meat of your choice) into the crock pot with a dash of water, salt and pepper in the morning, on low. By the time supper rolls around, the meat is cooked and ready to break down into bit size pieces, saving a good 10- 15 minutes. You could make tacos, gravy, a casserole of some sort, or whatever else you would make with cooked meat. How is this frugal…..well you would be less likely to eat out, coming home to a yummy smell of supper cooking. (Shared by Debi)
*Make your menu for the week using the store ads for what is on sale. Then make your shopping list. I never shop without a shopping list. This way I always have my coupons for what is on my list and do not impulse buy. I have also checked the store ads to make sure I am getting the best deal. (Shared by Shannon)
*Instead of using JetDry for the rinse agent in my dishwasher, I use white vinegar. Works even better and is soooo much cheaper. (Shared by Julie)
*Don’t just use your coupons! Match them up with sale items for the best deal! (Shared by Ashley)
*Always keep extras of items I use often, buying them while on sale or with coupons to save extra! (Shared by Pamela)
Definitely some smart, thrifty readers out there!! I absolutely loved reading your ideas!! Thanks for sharing them!
