It’s a snow day today! I think this is the first time it really feels like winter here (it’s been a super-dry and warm winter in our area so far), so it inspired me to pull together some of the activities we’ve done over the past few years and share them with you!
In addition to the regular snow-day-kind-of-ideas like making a snowman, building a fort, and drinking hot chocolate, here are 12+ of my snow day activities for little kids!
Make a Snowy Marshmallow Painting.
Have an indoor snowball fight or go on a snowball hunt (for younger kids).
Make Shimmery Snow Scenes.
I know I’ll get flack for this, but we still like to do it! Make snow ice cream with this recipe.
Make patterns in the snow.
Bring the snow indoors or do some indoor ice skating.
Have a Snowman Soup Relay.
Try one of these three Snow Day Snacks (pancakes, snowflakes, or snowman s’mores) or this Snowman Cracker Snack.
Make Torn Paper Snowpeople or a Snowman Votive Holder.
Practice numbers (or letters) with this Snowy Day Number Formation idea.
